April 12th - Morning Fishing

Fishing continues to be really good out of Chicago. The action was slow this morning as we trolled out of Montrose Harbor, but when we got close to Navy Pier things changed. After 1 1/2 hours of no bites to start, we started picking up bites every 20 minutes around the break walls downtown. We ended up catching 12 fish on 13 bites over 5 hours of fishing. 8 Coho(3 released), 2 Brown Trout,  1 Lake Trout, and 1 King Salmon(10lbs). The planer boards with crank baits and dodger/fly combos seemed to do most of the damage with a couple bites on the down riggers. The dipsy divers were dead today.
